Dear Harry, ... I wanted to reach out and say hi and to thank you. I don't know if words could ever convey just how much your words and acts of kindness have impacted my life. At the time we met I was going through the most devastating events of my life. You opened your door and listened to me cry over the recent loss of my mother, the betrayal ,death of my husband, loss of my home, car and vicious verbal attacks from others.  You listened and encouraged me to have faith, not grow bitter and look to the Lord for guidance. When I found myself trying to "grow up fast" you told me not to rush things that I was a butterfly who just came from her cocoon and that I must take the time to allow my wings to heal. I moved away from California ... with my sons in search of a peaceful, safe life. It has been 9 years since that move.

    I listened to what you said and placed my focus on personal growth and raising my sons. Here we are 9 years later and my sons have grown into two of the most amazing young men, who are gentle and kind in both heart and action, My prayers of "breaking" the cycle of abuse by the men in the family have been answered. I went back to college and graduated with honors . I was offered a job ... here in town before I even graduated and 3 yrs later I am [in a senior position]. Through it all I looked to our Lord and prayed for strength and guidance and he never let me down. I learned to depend on me and became a much stronger woman because of that.

   This morning I want to say "thank you", if it were not for your gentle words and open door I don't know that I would have made it through those days of darkness. I am so blessed and grateful the Lord put you in my path during a time of extreme need. Please know that you have forever changed not only my life but the lives of two young men. We will never forget you Harry.

Not having a gift of being a good communicator I hope I can express my gratitude to the things I learned during counseling with Harry.

    As a 60 year old technical guy I grew up to see life through my eyes and mind, this is, I’m a visual person that analyses how everything works.
    The problem is that relationships, especially with my wife, do not work quite this way. Through our conversations, printed material and exercises and even his own life experiences (and a little arm twisting…. : ] ), Harry was able to teach me some “new” basics of life. One of th[ese] elements is called “empathy”, and even though it is a foreign concept for some of us men, it is important to realize how much we need it in order to understand each other. Being honest I have to say this doesn’t mean that I just simply got it, and will start doing it right away. I know it is going to take some time, but with hope and pray and a little bit of practice I will learn how to put in practice this new “head” knowledge (or maybe when I grow up…. ;)

    Seriously, I’m very thankful to Harry for his counsel and I will recommend him to any of my friends.

I have known Harry Robinson for many years. He lead a men’s group early Friday mornings and I watched in awe at his methods and practical application to so many different issues that various men were encountering.

Isaiah 9:6 points to the heart of counseling ministry: “ . . . and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor . . .” Christians know this [as] a reference to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is to rule and guide our lives. Anyone who actually counsels well is doing so by passing on the counsel of the Lord Jesus. In fact it is the Lord who is counseling right through the life of Harry to the people he counsels. This is an awesome responsibility, to say and do the right things and lead an exemplary life. Harry Robinson has always done that in my estimation.

I recommend Harry without reservation.

I served for many years as a Christian counselor in the Army and counseled hundreds of Soldiers and their family members helping to give them the guidance and outside perspective that they needed…only to find out that where I needed to receive counseling myself...I had no one that I felt comfortable turning to.
